The new Peak Atlas IT represents a
turning point for network cable testing in terms of speed, size, ease of use and
features. While other network cable testers are available, they are usually
bulky, offer limited information and take time to interpret. Simply connect one
end of your network cable to the Atlas IT and the other end to the Atlas
Terminator and press the test button. Within seconds, the display verifies the
cable and identifies it as either a Straight Through (PC-Hub type) or a
Cross-Over (PC-PC type). Additionally, if it detects any problems such as
missing, shorted or wrongly wired connections then these are highlighted clearly
on the display. The screen shows you the important information first, pressing
the scroll button will allow you to see more details, as and when you want to.
If you simply need to know if a cable is good or bad then the information is
instantly displayed following the analysis, in plain, unambiguous English. If
you are not sure how to wire a certain type of network cable then the Atlas IT
can be used as a quick reference guide too. Wiring instructions can be displayed
on screen when not testing cables. You’ll never forget to switch the unit off
either, the unit will turn off automatically if not used for more than 30
seconds.

Atlas IT Identified Terminators (x8)
Using the new ID Terminators provides all the existing functions of cable type identification and fault detection in addition to cable-run identification. Now you can analyze and identify lots of cables without needing to make lots of trips to swap terminators. Sets of 8 unique ID Terminators (numbers 01 to 08) are currently available, numbers 09 to 27 will become available soon.
